Accessibility Statement

Lymphaeum Education is committed to making our website, training, and content accessible to the widest possible audience. We design and maintain our Wix website in line with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and use the Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and fix issues on an ongoing basis.

Measures we take to support accessibility (Wix-specific)

We actively:

  • Run the Wix Accessibility Wizard before each major update and resolve flagged items.

  • Use semantic headings (H1–H3), meaningful link text, and lists for structure.

  • Provide alt text for informative images and mark decorative images as decorative.

  • Maintain colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for text and interactive elements.

  • Ensure keyboard accessibility for menus, buttons, forms, galleries, lightboxes, and carousels (tab order checked via the Layers panel).

  • Display a clear focus indicator on interactive elements.

  • Add a “Skip to main content” link and set the site language (English – UK) in Wix settings.

  • Label all forms with visible labels, error messages, and helpful instructions; required fields are indicated programmatically.

  • Provide captions or transcripts for any essential video or audio.

  • Avoid auto-play and excessive animation; we respect users’ reduced-motion preferences.

  • Offer downloadable materials (e.g., PDFs) in accessible formats on request.

 

Using our website

You should be able to:

  • Zoom up to 300% without content spilling off-screen.

  • Navigate most of the site using a keyboard or speech recognition.

  • Use a screen reader (tested with NVDA and VoiceOver) to read menus, headings, links, and form controls.

 

Known limitations

We’re working to improve:

  • A small number of legacy PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers.

  • Historic images may be missing alt text.

  • Some third-party widgets may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA.

If you encounter an issue, please let us know and we’ll provide an accessible alternative promptly.

 

Accessibility in our training

  • We aim to book venues with step-free access where possible.

  • Course materials can be provided in large print or digital formats.

  • We welcome support workers or interpreters (please notify us in advance).

  • We make reasonable adjustments to practical activities where safe and appropriate.
